Lil Win Calls For 70% Local Movie Airplay

Lil Win

Actor and Musician, Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win has called on government to enact laws that will ensure at least 70 percent of local movies are aired on television channels in the country.

According to him, the kumawood movie industry is collapsing as a result of television stations not airing more of the local movie contents on their channels.
In an exclusive interview with The Publisher yesterday, he said “Kumawood movies makes people laugh and also brings happiness to our homes. We hold the Ghanaian movie industry so we are pleading with Nana Addo to ensure that majority of our movies are shown on air.”
His call follows after many kumawood actors and producers have admitted that the industry has collapsed.
Actress Nana Ama Mcbrown recently in an interview on an Accra based FM station disclosed that the number of movie scripts she normally receives in a month had declined significantly.
However, the actor cum musician believes kumawood movie industry would revive if the media focuses on their movies more than the English and foreign movies.
He also stated that the introduction of decoders has also contributed to the collapse of the industry.
According to him, movie lovers no more buy Compact Disks (CDs) due to the introduction of decoders in the country.
Lil Win was recently in the news for launching his ultramodern School for the people of Ahenkuro in the Ashanti Region
