Kumasi – It is a Black Thursday for the media fraternity in Ashanti Region as news of the reported passing of Lawyer Stephen Boateng (Kwabena Kesse), Owner and CEO of Kessben Media Group, has sent shockwaves across the industry.
Mr. Kesse was widely regarded as a pillar behind the growth of Ashanti media. Through Kessben FM, Kessben TV, and http://Kessbenonline.com, he built one of the biggest media brands in Ghana, creating jobs and providing a major platform for news, politics, sports and entertainment in the region.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official confirmation from the family or from Kessben Media outlets.
The news has already triggered an outpouring of tributes from journalists, politicians, and listeners who describe him as a visionary businessman who invested heavily in media development in Kumasi and beyond.
Kessben Media, under his leadership, became a household name and a training ground for many presenters and journalists currently working across Ghana.
