Days ago the renowned music producer criticized Afua after she embarked on a singing journey to break the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon which stands at 105.
As she was receiving support from all individuals in the country and abroad including Ghana’s veep president Dr Bawumia, Zapp took to his X page formally Twitter to share his thoughts on the competition.
He questioned the vocal prowess and tactics of Asantewaa in a series of tweets, saying, “Even professional singers won’t attempt a feat like this without a voice coach around to be coaching what to do.” Not a plan. Just have fun; I will sing.”
Zapp continued, expressing concern for her voice and implying that she required assistance in order to stay on pitch and prevent exhaustion.

His comment attracted a lot of backlash from netizens.
After some sober thought, Zappy formally apologized to Afua a few days later.
In his statement, he asked for forgiveness, saying, “Guys, guys, guys, I’m so, so sorry. I just realized I was judging Afua Asantewaa so hard. Plz forgive me. I didn’t know the rules. But I said some of the things out of concern for her. Pls don’t get me wrong. I’m behind her just like every Ghanaian.”

The media personality is aiming at singing to break the 105 existing record by Sunil Waghmare, an Indian, who sang for 105 hours in March 2012.
Currently, she has passed 80 hours and has performed 120 songs so far at an event happening live at Akwaaba village airport.
