KUMASI, GHANA — The Music Mentorship Experiences (TMME), an initiative designed to equip artists, producers, and other music industry professionals with the knowledge, mentorship, and practical guidance needed to build successful and sustainable careers in music, is set to launch its workshop series in Kumasi, in Ghana’s Ashanti Region, on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
Operating under the theme “Building Successful Music Careers Through Mentorship,” the workshop is powered by IMBSC and iNMUSIC Distro. It aims to connect emerging talents and established industry professionals through meaningful conversations, industry insights, practical learning, and mentorship opportunities that can help creatives navigate Ghana’s evolving music business.
The Kumasi edition marks the first programme in the planned regional rollout of TMME, with subsequent editions intended to reach other regions across Ghana.
A NEW PLATFORM FOR MUSIC CAREER DEVELOPMENT
Building a successful music career requires more than talent alone. Artists and music professionals must also understand the business, develop their brands, protect their creative work, establish industry relationships, embrace digital opportunities, and make informed decisions about their long-term careers.
The Music Mentorship Experiences seeks to address these needs by creating a platform where participants can learn directly from professionals with experience across music production, songwriting, talent management, digital distribution, marketing, media, technology, entertainment law, and personal well-being.
The workshop is designed for musicians, recording artists, songwriters, music producers, managers, independent labels, aspiring music executives, content creators, and other individuals interested in building meaningful careers within the music and entertainment industries.
Through shared experiences and practical industry knowledge, TMME aims to help participants gain a better understanding of the opportunities available to them and the responsibilities involved in developing sustainable creative businesses.
Rather than focusing solely on the artistic side of music, the programme places emphasis on the professional, commercial, digital, legal, and personal development aspects of a lasting career.

WHY MUSIC MENTORSHIP MATTERS
The Music Mentorship Experiences is built around the understanding that talent develops more effectively when it is supported by knowledge, experience, discipline, and the right professional guidance.
For emerging artists, the music industry can present challenges involving recording costs, distribution, promotion, artist management, digital visibility, publishing, contracts, and the development of a distinct musical identity.
Producers and songwriters must also navigate collaboration, professional relationships, creative ownership, and the business arrangements that support their work.
Meanwhile, managers and other music professionals need to understand how to identify talent, build effective teams, develop market strategies, and create structures that support long-term growth.
By bringing different areas of industry knowledge into one workshop, TMME seeks to encourage a more informed and professionally equipped generation of music creatives.
The programme’s focus on sustainable careers is especially significant. Beyond achieving immediate recognition or a successful release, musicians and music professionals need the knowledge and systems required to manage opportunities, develop their skills, protect their interests, and remain active in the industry over time.
POWERED BY IMBSC AND iNMUSIC DISTRO
The Music Mentorship Experiences is powered by IMBSC and iNMUSIC Distro, bringing together an initiative focused on mentorship and professional development with experience connected to music distribution and the wider music business.
Through the workshop series, the organisers seek to create opportunities for creatives to learn from experienced professionals, gain exposure to different areas of the industry, and develop a stronger understanding of the knowledge required to build their careers.
Beginning in Kumasi, the initiative is intended to extend to other regions of Ghana, providing a platform for music professionals and emerging talents beyond a single location.
The regional approach creates an opportunity to engage creative communities in different parts of the country and broaden access to professional knowledge and mentorship.
