Daddy Lumba gifts physically challenged man who sang his song

Legendary Ghanaian Highlife performer Daddy Lumba has shown compassion towards a man with mental illness who attracted attention by perfectly replicating the lyrics of his song word for word.

Days ago this mentally challenged man by name Yaw Fosu, saw seen in a viral video singing Daddy Lumba’s ‘Makra Mo’ released in 1993 at a funeral word by word and it attracted a lot of attention on social media.

In a video taken by the Fantasy Club of Daddy Lumba at a funeral in Alhaji Tabora, a suburb of Accra, Fosuh, who interestingly has the same last name as Daddy Lumba, impressively sang the legend’s song word for word — igniting grief and emotions all over social media.

Later the leadership of the Fantasy Club of Daddy Lumba bathed him, dressed him, fed him and took him to the psychiatric hospital to check on him.

The next day, Daddy Lumba, invited Yaw Fosu to DL FM, where he was interviewed by Nana Adjoa Silky on the ‘DL Hour’ show. He talked about his upbringing, his educational background and his current predicament. He also performed Daddy Lumba’s ‘Adaka Tea’ and ‘Odo Nti’.

DL as popularly called, who was impressed with his singing prowess sent a cash donation presented by Nana Adjoa Silky. An elated Fosu thanked Daddy Lumba for his kind gesture.

The Fantasy Club of Daddy Lumba also promised to support Fosu throughout his rehabilitation.
