Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has come out to debunk wild rumours circulating on social media claiming she is dead.
The actress, who was falsely reported to have been involved in a fatal accident, took to her Instagram page on Sunday to assure fans and loved ones that she is alive, healthy, and safe.
In an emotional video shared online, Ruth Kadiri urged the public to disregard the fake reports and help report pages spreading the false news.
“Please note that I am alive. I did not have any accident, and I am safe,” she said.
The movie star expressed shock and sadness over the number of fake accounts created just to spread the death hoax, describing the act as cruel and hurtful.
“I am alive!! Please help me report. Please, I’m begging you, help me report it!! Any page that carries such news. I am really sad at the extent to which some people will go on this social media space to hurt and wish death on another person. I stay in my lane. Leave me alone. I beg you all. It’s really becoming tiring and sad.”
Her clarification has brought relief to fans, as false death reports involving celebrities continue to rise on social media.
