Van Vicker slams group opposed to Kafui Danku and James Gardiner’s appointment
Celebrated Ghanaian filmmaker Van Vicker has rebuked a group that voiced objections to the appointment of actress Kafui Danku
and actor James Gardiner to lead the
National Film Authority (NFA).
According to him, the President made an excellent decision in appointing the two industry professionals, and he believes they will work diligently.
Addressing the group that claims the government did not follow proper procedures before the appointment, he advised them to allow the appointees to work, noting that they can appoint their own candidate when they assume the presidency in the future.

I wish to thank the President Mr JM for recognising the creatives of this nation, Ayekoo.
To the group that claims there are more competent individuals out there then those the president appointed per the NFA, I say do not slander our president.
Is this group suggesting that the president’s appointment was arbitrary and there was no due diligence or perhaps they wish to imply the president lacks wisdom. I comprehend that they have a different opinion and they have the right to express it, so do I.
The president in his prudence made those appointments and I dare say, like every other appointment, in consultation with trusted persons. I do not opine that the president will set up any appointee for failure. He regards them, hence given them the opportunity to influence progress to the sector, let them work.
Do not nominate their abilities as null abinitio. Leave them to do their jobs. If you decide not to work with them for our amelioration then you go sit down. When one of you become president, you may appoint yourselves.
Do not conceive division and malice at the very kickoff. Let them do their job. I have a sense of optimism, they shall do well.
Congratulations to my colleagues @kafuidanku and @jamesgardinergh
This is not a political statement neither is it one for favouritism.
