Ghanaian media personality Afua Asantewaa has officially set a new record at the Guinness World Record.
The Ghanaian journalist and former beauty queen broke the 105-hour longest singing record by Indian Sunil Waghmare in 2012 and set her personal record of 126 hours and 52 minutes.
Currently, she is awaiting official confirmation and verification of her new record by the judges of the Guinness World Record.
Her attempt to break the record lasted five straight days, having kicked off from December 24 to December 29, 2023.
Throughout the five-day sing-a-thon competition, several Ghanaian celebrities including Ghana’s Vice President and flagbearer of the ruling NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, came there, and the likes of Becca, Cina Soul, Sista Afia, Kwabena Kwabena, Eno Barony, Kobi Rana, Sarkodie, and Nana Ama McBrown, all appeared in person to support her.
The historic event came from Akwaaba village in Accra.
