Ghanaian legendary actress, media personality, and musician Maame Dokono has counseled actors and actresses in politics.

According to the renowned actress creative act industry people should be cautious about engaging in politics because it can destroy their career.
Speaking in an interview on GTV, the former Choice FM presenter disclosed that if an actor or actress fails to help his/her party win power, it can lead to professional setbacks.

“If you’re going into politics and you’re an artist, pray that your party wins, because if your party loses, you will be shut down by everybody. They won’t cast you, and they will not let people even watch your film,” she said.
Narrating her bad experiences, due to her political affiliations, she said she was blacklisted and denied movie roles for about two years due to her political affiliations. “I wasn’t cast for about two years,” she recalled, expressing regret over her deep involvement in politics.
