Bright Kankam Boadu, a distinguished sports broadcaster professionally known as BKB, has received the prestigious award as 2024 Sports Journalist of the Year at the Sports Writers Association Ghana (SWAG) awards.

He was presented with this accolade at the 49th edition of the esteemed awards, recognizing his outstanding work as a sports broadcaster over the years.

Now the host of Pure FM sports on Pure 95.7mhz has worked with Angel 96.1mhz and Nhyira 104.5mhz , all in Kumasi.
According to the MC, BKB’s ability to engage his listeners and deliver high-quality content set him apart from his colleagues. He faced stiff competition from Fentuo Tahiru of Joy FM, but ultimately took home the top honor.
The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), the governing body of sports journalists in Ghana, is an awards scheme organized to celebrate sports excellence and recognize the outstanding achievements of Ghana’s top-performing athletes and sports officials.
The SWAG Awards, which have been consistently honoring sports excellence since 1975, is the longest-running award scheme in Ghana.
