Popular media practitioner MzGee has officially announced her divorce.
MzGee, host of United Showbiz on UTV and born Gloria Akpene Nyarku, has formally revealed that she is no longer married to colleague media practitioner Raymond Acquah of Multimedia Group Limited.
In a viral video spotted and shared by SIR KENN social media post, she shared that she has been separated from Raymond Acquah for three years and divorced for two years.
She said
“My name is Gloria Akpene Nyarku. I have no documentation that bears the name Acquah. I know this is because once upon a time you knew a certain Raymond Acquah who I was married to. Unfortunately, I have been separated from Raymond Acquah for three years and divorced officially from him for two years, so I don’t have any ties to him,” .
As per her statement, her decision is motivated by the best interest of her newborn baby, subsequent to years of silence from both parties.
“I wouldn’t have responded to or addressed it because it is nobody’s business what I did with my private life, but now there’s a child involved, and I do not want him growing up to be confused about his paternity. I have no business whatsoever anymore with Raymond Acquah,” she said.
The former TV3 presenter also urged Ghanaians to address her appropriately henceforth.
“I see that people want to attach us. Yes, maybe you didn’t know; it’s ok. My name is Gloria Akpene Nyarku. No Acquah attached. Please let the gentleman breathe.”
The couple had gotten married in a beautiful traditional wedding ceremony, followed by a white wedding at the Accra Luxury Lounge in Ajiringanor, in October 2017.
The likes of Kafui Danku, MzBel, Choirmaster and wife, Beverly Afaglo, Israel Laryea, Nana Aba Anamoah, Okudzeto Ablakwa, Giovanni Caleb, family members, closed friends and many others graced the wedding ceremony.
