Renowned actress and producer Matilda Asare has spoken out about allegations concerning a significant amount of money allegedly received from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

During an interview with Ike de Unpredictable on Angel 96.1mhz, Asare explained that she did not obtain the funds for distribution among her colleagues.

Rather, she received GH₵ 310,000 from an NPP member, who wished to remain unnamed, in support of her movie proposal, Tetteh Quarshie.
Asare disclosed that some colleagues chose not to participate in the film, leading her to provide them with a portion of the funds.
