The Ghanaian film industry is mourning the loss of actress Beverly Afaglo, with tributes pouring in after news of her passing broke online early Sunday morning.

John Dumelo, a prominent actor and Member of Parliament, is among the latest to pay his respects.
In a Facebook post, he recounted the late actress’s contribution to his securing a movie role.
He claimed to have met Beverly 20 years prior on set, and subsequently, she called him to contact the movie Producer Salam, leading to his starring role in ‘King is Mine’.

About 20 years ago I walked into the set of “About to Wed” in Dzorwulu. That’s when I met Beverly Afaglo, Prince David Osei and Yvonne Okyere. We starred in one of the best tv series and Bev brought out the best in me. Fast forward a year after, Bev calls and says ‘John, call Salam( movie Producer), they need someone to play the role of a King’. That’s how I got to star in the movie “King is Mine” and the rest they say is History. Thanks so much Bev for playing a significant role in my acting career. I am glad you are resting peacefully now. I will always dey 4 u….one day when I decide to write a book, your name will fill pages. ❤️
