At 40, actress Nikki Samonas opens up about her decision to remain unmarried and childless.
She also addressed assumptions about motherhood and fertility, noting that she is mindful but not anxious about her situation.
“I am very fertile so I have to be even more careful. In my family, the ladies are very fertile so when you joke, you will take seed. So I am very careful, but it will come at the right time,” she explained.
Nikki Samonas also questioned societal expectations placed on women around childbirth, asking, “Childbirth is the gateway to heaven, is it?”
“The type of companionship I need is not the baby type of companionship,” she said.
“Companionship can come from a family member, friends, a pet, and even a partner,” she concluded.
