Piesie Esther, a renowned Ghanaian Gospel singer, has sparked a debate on the collaboration between gospel and secular artists.

The distinguished musician, in an appearance on Joy Prime TV with George Quaye, stated that she has yet to make a conclusive decision regarding working with secular artists.

The “Nyame Ye” hitmaker revealed that…“I have not made up my mind yet to make music with secular musicians,”.

She elaborated that her hesitation is not rooted in criticism of secular musicians, noting that she does not see anything inherently wrong with such collaborations.

There’s nothing wrong with doing a song with secular musicians,”.

She did note, however, that the response from her gospel community continues to be an important factor.

My own people will be the ones to bash me because they may not understand,”.

The singer, who has won numerous awards, is still confident that perspectives will shift over time, despite forecasted criticism.

For now, they may lack understanding, but I believe a time will come when it will be easier to collaborate with secular artistes,” she said.
