Renowned sports broadcaster Collins Atta Poku, also known as Bishop Atta Poku, has spoken publicly for the first time about his reasons for leaving Wontumi Radio/TV approximately four years ago.
Now working with Sompa FM/TV and television, Atta Poku revealed his intentions during his inaugural visit to the newly formed sports team at Wontumi Radio and TV.
According to Atta Poku, his mother had a dream about a funeral, warning him to be mindful of his actions at work. The former Kessben FM/TV presenter stated that his mother advised him to give money to a colleague who was allegedly jealous of his success at the radio station, which he complied with.
Following the directive, Atta Poku felt it necessary to leave Wontumi FM and join another media outlet to maintain his peace of mind.
He said;
“He mentioned that his mother had called him, advising him to be cautious with his food and drink consumption due to a dream she had, in which she attended a funeral. She instructed him to place money in his pocket in a white handkerchief and give it to the first person he encountered at work. According to his mother, this individual was experiencing grief at work because he felt overshadowed by him.
Upon seeing Kent at the gate first, he gave him the money, saying he had lost his father, just like him. He added that his time was up, so there was no need to make an issue out of it, as he explained on Wontumi FM in Twi.
Atta further clarified that his departure was not due to a grudge with Wontumi FM’s owner, as alleged by some individuals.
He emphasized that there was no problem with Chairman Wontumi, stating that if the work environment becomes toxic, it is necessary to leave.
