The Ashanti Region, especially Kumasi, relies heavily on sports shows as the backbone of every radio station.
In Kumasi, prominent radio stations like Nhyira FM, Kessben, Wontumi, Lawson FM/TV, and others dominate the airwaves with sports programming.
To rival these established sports shows, Ezra Radio and Television, has assembled a robust sports team to compete the existing sports programs in Kumasi.
The team, which SIRKENN.com refers to as the “Dream Team,” is spearheaded by renowned sports broadcaster Richard Akowuah, professionally known as Little King. Also referred to as Latest Intelligence, he will host and present foreign sports. Little King has had previous stints with Otec FM, Oyerepa Radio and Television, Fox FM, Kumasi FM, Precise FM, and Sompa FM/TV all in Kumasi.
The team, led by Little King, includes pundits who will provide in-depth analysis of the day’s sports stories. One such pundit is James Nkansah, also known as Principal, who joined the team from Fox FM.
Akoto Frimpong, also known as Saint Jude, is another valuable team member. Jude has gained experience working with Kumasi-based Light FM, Agyapa FM, and Television.
Escaldo, known privately as David Osei, joins the team, bringing experience from All-Friends FM, Bohy3 FM, Radio Mercury, FOX FM, and Precise FM, all in Kumasi. His innovative entertainment approach is expected to engage listeners and viewers.
A great producer enhances every radio and TV show. Darling Boy Piero will produce the upcoming Ezra sports show, utilizing his sports broadcasting expertise to deliver high-quality content.
Last on the list is Benjamin Owusu Antwi aka De Crusader who has rejoin Ezra FM and television. He has also worked with Otec FM, AP Radio and Television and Wontumi Radio and Television.
The official unveiling is schedule to come off this Thursday May 1st at the Car Park of Ezra Communications. Special guest for the show are CEO of Ezra Communications Apostle Kofi Amponsah and Hon Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi (ZUBA) Kumasi Major. MC for the event are Bishop Okatakyire Afriyie and Adusi Poku.
The Ezra sports show will air on Ezra Radio/Television from 7:00 am to 7:40 am and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on weekdays, starting in May.
