The legendary Kwame Sefa Kayi, professionally known as Chairman General, is making a comeback to Ghana’s most popular morning show, Kokrokoo, after several months of absence.
The long-awaited news was confirmed by Nana Yaw Kesse, who has been substituting for him during his absence.
The celebrated Ghanaian broadcaster, Kwame Sefa Kayi, mysteriously went missing in January 2025, following the inauguration of the new National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
It was rumored that his disappearance was linked to the NDC’s election victory, considering his previous disputes with the party.
In 2019, news emerged that Chairman nearly sacked Sammy Gyamfi, who was part of the NDC communication team and is now CEO of the Ghana Gold Board, from the morning show after allegedly disrespecting him.
Concerns arose in the media space about his absence, prompting speculation that he had been sacked or forced to resign.
However, Sefa Kayi addressed these rumors in an interview, assuring the public of his return.
Today, on the show, Odi-Ahenkan Kwame Yeboah and long-serving member Adwoa Yeboah Agyei welcomed the legend back with a song, announcing his comeback.
Current host Nana Yaw Kesse confirmed that Kwame Sefa Kayi will resume hosting Kokrokoo on Monday, July 14, 2025.
