Popular hiplife recording artists Black Sherif has responded to claims that he said we should ban foreign music in Ghana
According to the “Oil on my head” composer he did not said such thing anywhere.
Speaking of his X page formerly Twitter he said;
I don’t know where in my speech that says ban foreign music. How crazy can you spin a message that says love your culture and try play local music to your visitors if you wanna see your country creatives break boundaries. How do I want foreign music ban in my country while I work with foreign producers and Artistes? But agenda set ah lie? Good luck to everybody.

His statement comes after he gave a speech at the launch of #PlayGhana initiative ceremony that came off days ago. The initiative organized by some industry stakeholders and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, in collaboration with the Creative Arts Agency, seeks to promote Ghanaian music nationwide, especially during the Christmas season when there is an influx of diasporas spending their holidays in the country.
At the launch Blacko as popularly called said these words below;
The initiative was a step in the right direction for Ghanaian music and culture and urged everyone to support it.
