Veteran Ghanaian disc jockey DJ Candyman has shared stories about his darkest moments on Asaase Radio, located in Accra.
Speaking to the legendary presenter Hammer Nti on Hammer Time, the former Atinka FM presenter disclosed that he was fired from his own program without his knowledge.
He began by narrating the tragic news by saying during his days at the station he was disrespected by his own colleagues.
Asaase Radio uses two studios, so one day I went to work and was playing music in studio B while another presenter by name DJ Rayne was doing the same in studio A. One technician by name Emmanuel approached me and said, “Boss, the songs you are playing do not go on air,” he said.
He then went up to the DJ Rayne and informed him and to his surprise he told him they have given him his program to handle.
The former Fox FM presenter remarked why haven’t you informed me that they have given you my show, Rayne? You are watching me perform music that isn’t broadcast.
I never liked or loved the station again after that day, and I eventually resigned, he continued.
