The late veteran Ghanaian media practitioner DJ Awana‘s final funeral rites comes off today Saturday, September 27, 2025.
Samuel Tei Mensah Nartey, popularly known as DJ Awana, will be laid in state at the Aggrey Road School Park in Tema Community 2 from 8:00 am to 9:00 am.
The burial service will continue at the same venue from 9:00 am before he is interred at the Prampram Cemetery.
On Sunday, April 6, 2025, DJ Awana, aged 47, passed away at the 37 Military Hospital after a short illness.
His distinguished media career, spanning over two decades, began at Adom FM in Tema, where he quickly rose to fame.

With his gentle demeanor, soft-spoken nature, and expert song selection, DJ Awana became a highly respected figure in Ghana’s media and live event industries.
He is survived by three children: Beatrice Nartey, El-Nathan Duodu Nartey, and Nelson Nartey.
