Qwaqu Darlington narrates how bad treatment led him to quit Akwaaba Radio

Qwaqu Darlington, a young and ambitious media practitioner, has recounted how he parted ways with Akwaaba Radio to join the ranks of Nhyira FM.

He attributed the situation to negligence on the part of his former employers following his arrest while on assignment in Ivory Coast.

The Nhyira FM presenter, stated that subsequent to his arrest and that of his team, the management of the station absented themselves and left them to face their predicament unaided.

How I Sadly Left Akwaaba Radio for Nhyira FM

Leaving Akwaaba Radio was not part of my plan. It was a painful turn of events shaped not by ambition, but by abandonment at one of the lowest moments of my life.

While on an assignment that led me to Ivory Coast, I was arrested together with members of my rescue team. It was a moment of fear, confusion, and deep uncertainty. In that critical period, I expected the support of the institution I had worked hard for Akwaaba Radio. I believed that management would stand by me, seek clarity, and offer at least moral or professional backing.
Days passed with silence. No official concern, no public clarification, no attempt to understand the circumstances surrounding my arrest. I felt exposed, isolated, and left to fight a battle that went beyond journalism.it was about my freedom, my integrity, and my name.
With a heavy heart, I realized that I could no longer continue in an environment where loyalty only flowed in one direction. Walking away from Akwaaba Radio was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made, but it became necessary for my dignity and growth.

My move to Nhyira FM was not an escape.it was a rebirth. At Nhyira, I found a platform that valued my voice, respected my sacrifices, and believed in my purpose as a journalist. The transition came with scars, but also with renewed strength and clarity.

This journey taught me a hard lesson: talent may open doors, but support sustains destinies. I carry no bitterness only truth, growth, and gratitude for the resilience the experience gave me.
